WHEREAS, Chapter 14 of Division 3 of the Streets and Highways Code was addec by Chapter 1350 of the Statutes of 1985 providing for the establishment of a Service Authority for Freeway mrgencies (SAFE) if the board of supervisors of the county and a mjority of the cities within the county having a majority of the population adopt resolutions providing for the establishment of the authority; and WHEXEAS, the City Council finds that a freeway emergency mtorist aid syster is needed to protect the safety of motorists on freeways; and WHEREAS, The City Council finds that a freeway emergency mtorist aid syster is needed to reduce the time spent by law enforcemnt officers responding to routine vehicle disablements; and WHEREAS, SAFE will have responsibility for implementing a freeway emergency motorist aid system in the San Diego region; NOW THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED AND ORDERED that a Service Authority for Freeway Emergencies be established in San Diego County pursuant to section 2550 of the Street and Highways Code. /// /// /// /// /// /// /// /// /// 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 IC 11 12 12 14 1E 1E 17 1E 1E 2c 23 2: 22 24 2E 2E 27 2E PASSED, APPF8XJ3D, AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, State of California, on this 19th day of November, 1985, by the following vote: AYES : NOES : ABSENT: ATTEST : Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Chick and Pettine None Council Member Casler
