RESOLUTION NO. -8798
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND
66, 6C, 6D, 6G, 6H, 61, 63, AND 6K, AND
AUTHORIZING THE KOLL COMPANY TO NEGOTIATE BID
THE CONSTR.UCTION OF THE CARLS.BAD SAFETY CENTER.
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF CONTRACTS 3006-6A,
SECTIONS 3006-6E ROOFING AND 6F SHEET METAL FOR
WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City of Carlsbad
for the construction of the Carlsbad Safety and Service
Center, Contracts Nos. 3006-6A, 68, 6C, 6D, 6G, 6H, 61, 65, and
6K; and
WHEREAS, the bids received for the contracts total
$1,011,579; and
WHEREAS, the Construction Manager has recommended
accpeptance of the bids; and
WHEREAS, no bids were received for bid sections 3006-6E
and 6F; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in Account No. 320-820-1810-
3006 and 114-820-1810-3006;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. The bids recommended by the Koll Company in the amount
of $1,011,579 for the construction of the- Carlsbad Safety
Center Bid Package No. 6 are hereby accepted and the Mayor and
City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute contracts
thereafter.

3. That Section 20166 of the Public Contract Code allows
Council to waive formal bidding requirements When no bids are
received and to authorize Koll Company to negotiate bid
sections 3006-6E for roofing and 3006-6F for sheet metal which
is work estimated at $263,747.00.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the
Carlsbad City Council held on the 17th day of -9 December
i 1985 by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Casler, Lewis, Kulchin, Chick and Pettine
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
