HomeMy WebLinkAbout1986-06-03; City Council; Resolution 85771 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 8577 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ENDORSING THE CREATION OF A CAMPUS OF SAN DIEGO STATE UNIVERSITY IN THE NORTHERN SECTOR OF SAN DIEGO COUNTY AND ENDORSING SB 1732 - CRAVEN WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the California State University has determined, based upon an independent study of demographics and economic trends, that there is a need for a permanent California State University facility in North San Diego County; and WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of California State University is expected to make a decision with the next two weeks on the acquisition of a site for the North County Campus; and WHEREAS, Senator Craven has introduced SB 1732 which will provide funds for said acquisition: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Carlsbad strongly supports the creation of a campus of San Diego State University in the northern sector of San Diego County, and endorses the passage of SB 1732 - Craven which appropriates funds for the acquisition of a campus site in North County. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council held the 3rd day of June , 1986, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Council Members Casler, Lewis, Kulchin, Chick and Pettine NOES: None A.BSENT : None ATTEST: a- JL MARY H.
