RESOLUTION NO. 8646
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, MAKING
FARE DISTRICT
APPOINTMENTS IN A BRIDGE AND THOROUGH-
WHEREAS, the CITY COUNCIL of the CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA
is considering the formation of a bridge and thoroughfare
district, as authorized under Section 66484 of the Government Code
of the State of California, and specifically as authorized by
Section 20.80.140 of the Municipal Code of the City of Carlsbad;
said district to be known and designated as
BRIDGE AND THOROUGHFARE DISTRICT NO. 1
(hereinafter referred to as the "District"); and,
WHEREAS, at this time the City Council is desirous of making
the required appointments and designating persons to perform
certain duties, in order to allow the proceedings to go forward to
completion in accordance with the provisions of law.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the above recitals are all true and correct.
SECTION 2. That the CARLSBAD JOURNAL is hereby designated as
the newspaper for all publications as required by law and as
necessary for completion of this District.
SECTION 3. That NESTE, BRUDIN & STONE, INC. is hereby
appointed as Report Engineer, for purposes of preparing the
Engineer's "Report" setting forth a description of the facilities,
cost estimate and method for fee apportionment.
SECTION 4. That F. MACKENZIE BROWN, INC., Attorneys at Law,
is hereby appointed as Special Counsel for the purposes of
preparing necessary Resolutions and documents and attendance at
public hearings and meetings. The compensation for said Special
Counsel shall be a flat fee of $3,500.00.
