RE SOLUTION NO. 8872
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE LAND USE ELEMENT
OF THE GENERAL PLAN TO CHANGE THE LAND USE DESIGNA-
TIONS FOR TWO AREAS OF THE CITY' S GENERAL PLAN
GPA/LU 86-5 - CITY OF CARLSBAD (EL CAMINO REAL AND
GPA/LU 86-7 - CITY OF CARLSBAD (TRANSPORTATION
CHE STNUT AVENUE )
CORRIDOR )
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did on July 30, 1986
and August 27, 1986 hold duly noticed public hearings as
prescribed by law to consider amendments to the Land Use Element
of the General Plan GPA/LU 86-5 and GPA/LU 86-7; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has determined that
these projects would not have significant impacts on the
environment and the City Council has concurred and Negative
Declarations were issued and approved in satisfaction of the
requirements of the City of Carlsbad Environmental Protection
Ordinance of 1980 and the California Environmental Quality Act:
and
WHEREAS, the City Council did on October 21, 1986 hold E
duly advertised public hearing to consider said amendments and at
that time received the recommendations, objections, protests and
comments of all interested persons desiring to be heard: and
WHEREAS, the City Council, after considerig all proposed
changes to the Land Use Element of the General Plan, directed the
City Attorney to return with appropriate documents to allow the
City Council to vote on the change individually as a part of one
single amendment to the Land Use Element of the General Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Carlsbad, California as follows:
A. That the above recitations are true and correct

B. That the findings of the Planning Commission as set
forth in Planning Commission Resolution No. 2581 (GPA/LU 86-5),
and Resolution No. 2590 (GPA/LU 86-7) constitute the findings of
the City Council.
C. That the Land Use Element of the General Plan be
amended as follows:
1. GPA/LU 86-5 CITY OF CARLSBAD: To change the Land Ust
Element from RM (Medium Density, 4-8 du's/acre) to RLM (Low
Medium Density 0-4 du's/acre) for approximately 4.15 acres of
property generally located on the southwest corner of El Camino
Real and Chestnut Avenue as shown on the map marked Exhibit A -
July 8, 1986 attached hereto and made a part hereof.
2. GPA/LU 86-7 CITY OF CARLSBAD: To change the Land
Use Element of the General Plan from no designation to
Transportation Corridor (TC) and amending the Land Use Element
text for property generally located within the Atchison Topeka
Santa Fe Railroad right-of-way and the 1-5 Freeway as shown on
the map marked Exhibit A - July 29, 1986 attached hereto and
made a part hereof.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, held on
the 12th day Of November , 1986 by the following
vote, t.o wit:
