A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE AGREEMENT WITH
WESTERN TEMPORARY SERVICES FOR SCHOOL CROSSING
GUARD SERVICE.
WHEREAS, the City has contracted with Western Temporary Services for school
crossing guard service;
WHEREAS, said agreement provides that charges for said services should
include a weekly rate of $322.50 for five crossing guards, effective September,
1987;
WHEREAS, after negotiations, the parties of said contract have agreed that
said weekly rate should be increased to $462 for six crossing guards, effective
September, 1987;
WHEREAS, said agreement provides for said services at five locations;
WHEREAS, after negotiations, the parties of said contract have agreed to
additional guards or deletion of guards as needed; and
WHEREAS, unencumbered funds in the amount of $22,000 are available in
Account No. 001-2120-2479 for the cost of the contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:
1. That Section 2.b. of said agreement shall be deleted in its entirety.

2. That the following paragraph shall be substituted:
"2. City shall

b. Pay Western Temporary Services for the services provided
under this agreement in the amount of $462.00 per week for six crossing guards
for 39 weeks of the school year. In the event there is an increase or decrease
in the number of guards required, the compensation shall be prorated
accordingly. In the event the school year is shortened or lengthened, the
compensation shall be prorated accordingly. In the event there is an increase
in Workers' Compensation or FICA, the compensation shall be increased
accordi ngl y . ''
Adjourned PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a/ Regular Meeting of the City Council of
the City of Carlsbad on the 29thday of September , 1987, by the following
vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Pettine, Mamaux and Larson
NOES: None
ABSENT: Council Member Kulchin
