HomeMy WebLinkAbout1988-01-05; City Council; Resolution 88-6‘8 1 II a 0 ? 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 IO 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 RESOLUTION NO. 88-6 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, SUPPORTING SENATE BILLS 140 AND 176 (DEDDEH) WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad nizes that an efficient transportation infrastructure is to the economic well-being of the state and is essential the daily activities of all the people; and WHEREAS, the adoption of Proposition A in November 1987 established a significant local funding source for portation improvements; and WHEREAS, SB 140 and SB 176 would establish a long- financial commitment from the Governor and the State Leg ture for transportation and would authorize, upon approv the voters, the issuance of bonds to assist in the finan of transportation improvements; and WHEREAS, SB 140 provides for a new state-local mat’ program which would maximize the number of improvements 1 can be implemented using Proposition A funds. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council 4 City of Carlsbad as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct. 2.
