A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF A
SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY ON
THE 7TH DAY OF JUNE, 1988, DECLARING THE RESULTS
THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS ARE REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, a Speci a1 Municipal Election was held and conducted in
of Carlsbad, County of San Diego, State of California, on Tuesday, thl
of June, 1988, as required by law; and

WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly and regularly given in t
and manner as provided by law, that voting precincts were properly est
that election officers were appointed, and that in all respects said
was held and conducted and the votes cast thereat, received and canvi
the returns made and declared in time, form and manner as require
provisions of the Election's Code of the State of California for the hl
elections in cities; and

WHEREAS, City Council Resolution No. 88-59, adopted on the 10t
March, 1988, authorized the Board of Supervisors of the County of San

19 I WHEREAS, pursuant to the Election's Code said canvass has been (
by the Registrar of Voters, who has conducted the canvass, said certi' 20
ilattached as Exhi bit "A". 21 11 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of ( 22

1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the whole number of ballots case in said City was 14,586
3. That the measures voted upon at the election are as follows:
PROPOSITION C: Shall Ordinance No. NS-8 be adopted amendin$ 3.12 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code to increase the Transient (
Tax rate from 6% to 8%?

PROPOSITION D:: Shall Ordinance No. NS-10 be adopted amendin 3.12 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code to increase the Transient Tax rate by an additional 2% to pay for the promotion of touri City and for a pub1 ic golf course, tennis courts and facilities?
4. That the number of votes given at each precinct and the number
for and against the measures, were as 1 isted in the. attached Exhibit
5. The City Council does declare and determine that:
(a) As a result of the election, a majority of voters t Proposition C relating to increasing the Transient Occu rate from 6% to 8%% voted in favor of it, and that Propc shall be deemed adopted and ratified.
(b) As a result of the election, a two-thirds majority of t voting on Proposition D relating to increasing the ' Occupancy Tax rate by an additional 2% to promote touris a public golf course, tennis courts and related facili, not vote in favor of it, and that Proposition D shal deemed adopted and ratified.
6. The City Clerk shall enter on the records of the City Counci
City, a statement of the result of the election showing: (1) The who'
of ballots cast in the City; (2) The measures voted upon; (3) The I

number of voters given for and against each measure.
