RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY (
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA APPROVING THE APPLICATION Fc
FUNDS UNDER THE CALIFORNIA SENIOR CENTER BOND AI
OF 1984 FOR THE PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT FOR THE N: CARLSBAD SENIOR CENTER
6 11 WHEREAS, the people of the State of California ha

approved the Senior Center Bond Act of 1984, which provid
funds to public and private non-profit agencies for t
purpose of acquiring, constructing, altering or renovati

senior centers and purchasing equipment or funding start-
costs for senior centers: and
WHEREAS, California Department of Aging has be
delegated the responsibility for the administration of t
program, setting up necessary procedures governing applicati
by local agencies under the program: and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the Californ
Department of Aging require the applicant to certify
resolution the approval of applications prior to submissi
of applications to the State: and
WHEREAS, the project applied for under this program mu
be of a high priority and satisfy the most urgent need wi

1 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council

the City of Carlsbad, California, hereby:

1. ' Approves the filing of an application for funding und

3. Certifies that said agency has or will have sufficie 6
use by all senior citizens;
funds or other resources to operate and maintain t
the Senior Center Bond Act of 1984;

and
Certifies that said agency will comply with all federa
state, and local environmental, public healt relocation, affirmative action, and clearinghou
requirements and all other appropriate codes, laws a regulations applicable to the project; and
Certifies that the project included in this applicati
conform to the Area Plan on Aging for the Planning a
Service Area in which the senior center is located; a
Appoints the Parks & Recreation Director as agent of t City of Carlsbad to conduct all negotiations, execute a
