RESOLUTION NO. 89-90
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBADr
CALIFORNIA AUTHORIZING TEE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A PILOT CURBSIDI
RECYCLING CONTRACT WITH COAST WASTE MANAGEMENTr INCORPORATED,
AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF INDIVIDUAL
HOUSEHOLD RECYCLING CONTAINERS

WHEREAS, on February 7, 1989, the City Council approvec
€i /I a voluntary pilot curbside recycling program for the City 0

contract to perform this pilot recycling project with Coas g
WHEREAS, City Council directed staff to prepare 8
Carlsbad; and
10 Waste Management, Incorporated; and
11 WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad and Coast Waste Management

of a pilot curbside recycling project; and 13
Incorporated desire to enter into a contract for the operatio
I.4 I WHEREAS, the purchase of 1100 sets of individua
15 I1 household containers by the City is necessary to launch th

curbside recycling pilot project; and
grant funds from the California Department of Conservation ar
' WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad is applying for recyclir

WHEREAS, the appropriation of funds is necessary 1 22
WHEREAS, grant funds will not be available before tl
21 purchase Of the individual household containers is made; and

1) That the above citations are true and correct.
2) That the Mayor is authorized to execute on behalf o
