A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY ON
THE 6TH DAY OF JUNE, 1989, DECLARING THE RESULTS
THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS ARE REQUIRED
BY LAW.

WHEREAS, a Speci a1 Municipal Election was he1 d and conducted in thl
of Carlsbad, County of San Diego, State of California, on Tuesday, the 6
of June, 1989, as required by law; and a
WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly and regularly given in time
and manner as provided by law, that voting precincts were properly establ
that election officers were appointed, and that in all respects said ell
was held and conducted and the votes cast thereat, received and canvass1

the returns made and declared in time, form and manner as required t
provisions of the Election’s Code of the State of California for the hold
elections in cities; and
WHEREAS, City Council Resolution No. 89-58, adopted on the 7th c
March, 1989, authorized the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Dic
canvass the returns of said election; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Election’s Code said canvass has been corn1
by the Registrar of Voters, who has conducted the canvass, said certific’
attached as Exhi bit “A“.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Car
California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the whole number of ballots cast in said City was 7,834.
3. That the measures voted upon at the election are as follows:
PROPOSITION F: Shall Ordinance No. NS-52 be adopted amending Cl 3.12 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code to increase the Transient Occ Tax rate from 8% to lo%?

PROPOSITION G: Do the voters of the City of Carlsbad approve spl City funds from various sources including the General Fund in an , over One Mi 11 ion Dol 1 ars as determined necessary by the City CI to construct two publ ic go1 f courses, one regul ation and one course, a multi-court tennis complex, two multi-purpose adult fields, and an enclosed soccer faci 1 i ty? This measure authorizl does not require such construction and may include the expendit funds for property acquisition.
4. That the number of votes given at each prec,inct and the number of

5. The City Counci 1 does declare and determine that:
(a) As a result of the election, a majority of voters vot. Proposition F relating to increasing the Transient Occupan rate from 8% to 10% did vote in favor of it, and that Propo
F and Ordinance No. NS-52 shall be deemed adopted and rat
(b) As a result of the election, a majority of the voters vot Proposition G relating to approving the expenditure of CitJ
for construction of two publ ic go1 f courses, a mu1 ti -court complex, two mu1 ti -purpose fields and an enclosed soccer fa did vote in favor of it, and that Proposition G shall be adopted and ratified.
6. The City Clerk shall enter on the records of the City Council
City, a statement of the result of the election showing: (1) The whole ,
