RESOLUTION NO. 90-67
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD
CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING STAFF TO PURSUE TRANSPORTATION
DEVELOPMENT ACT FUNDING FROM SANDAG TO PREPARE A
CITYWIDE BICYCLE MASTERPLAN.

WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad has designated bicycle routes in the Circulation E
the General Plan; and
WHEREAS, the importance of bicycles as an alternative mode of travel is well recog
encouraged in Carlsbad; and
WHEREAS, the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) has solicited f
10 // projects for the five-year Regional Transportation Improvement Program; and

development of bicycle lanes and facilities, education and safety programs and an inter1 14
WHEREAS, a bicycle masterplan will provide a comprehensive document to help fa( 13
Transportation Improvement Program; and
WHEREAS, the Citywide Bicycle Masterplan has been included on the five-year

bikeway system with surrounding jurisdictions; and
WHEREAS, funds have been established and are available through SANDAC
governments for preparing said masterplan;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, (
as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That City Council of the City of Carlsbad authorizes the submittal of an a
to the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) to request funding for a bicycle r
