RESOLUTION NO. 90-68
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD
CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING STAFF TO PURSUE TRANSPORTATION
DEVELOPMENT ACT FUNDING FROM SANDAG FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF BICYLE LANES ON THE PALOMAR AIRPORT
ROAD BRIDGE OVER INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 5.
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad has designated Palomar Airport Road as a bicycl
the Circulation Element of the General Plan; and
WHEREAS, the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) has solicited f
projects for the five-year Regional Transportation Improvement Program; and
WHEREAS, the Palomar Airport Road has been included on the five-year
Transportation Improvement Program; and
WHEREAS, the future widening of the Palomar Airport Road bridge over Interstatc
5 will include bicycle lanes; and
WHEREAS, funds have been established and are available through SANDAC
governments for construction of bicycle lanes;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, '
as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That City Council of the City of Carlsbad authorizes the submittal of an a
to the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) for the construction of bicycle la
Palomar Airport Road bridge over Interstate Highway 5.
