A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
PERTAINING TO THE CITY OF CARLSBAD
SOURCE REDUCTION AND RECYCLING ELEMENT
OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA,

WHEREAS, the California State Legislation through AB
939, the California Integrated Waste Management Act of
7 /I 1989, has mandated local governments to implement

recycling measures and to meet refuse source reduction
goals of 25% by 1995 and 50% by 2000; and
WHEREAS, the development of a Solid Waste Management
Program facilitates the preparation and implementation of
the City's Source Reduction and Recycling Element.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad as follows:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.
