RESOLUTION NO. -- 91-151
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA8 APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR A
HISTORIC PRESERVATION CERTIFIED LOCAL GOVERNMENT GRAN':
WHEREAS, the Congress under Public Law 89-665 has
authorized the establishment of a National Historic
Preservation Grants-in-Aid Program providing matching fundi
to the State of California, its political subdivisions,
eligible non-profit organizations, and individuals for
historic preservation survey, registration, and planning;
and
WHEREAS8 the State Department of Parks and Recreation
is responsible for administration of the program within th
State, setting up necessary rules and procedures governing
application under the program; and
WHEREAS8 said adopted procedures established by the
State Department of Parks and Recreation require the
applicant to certify by resolution the approval of
applications and the availability of local matching funds
prior to submission of said applications to the State;
NOW8 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
the City of Carlsbad, California hereby:
1. Approves the filing of an application for the
National Historic Preservation Grants-In-Aid assistance for hiring a professional to process the Santa Fe Depot application for placement on
the National Register, for Commissioners and sta
to attend Historic Preservation Conferences in
Sacramento and Santa Barbara.
2. Appoints the Housing and Redevelopment Director
his/her authorized deputy as the agent to coordinate, process, and execute all contracts,
agreements, amendments, and ancillary documents within the scope of the attached application; ar

3. Agrees that all required local matching funds wil be provided for the project.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED, at regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, held
on the *lst , day of May , 1991, by the
following vote, to wit:
