RESOLUTION NO. 91-300
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS, AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT, AND APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE EXISTING ENGINEERING CONSULTANT AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR THE HOME PLANT PUMP STATION AND FORCE MAIN, PROJECT NO. 3299
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad has prec
authorized the advertisement of bids for the construction of the Nome P1ar
Station and Force Main, Project No. 3299; and
WHEREAS, twelve (12) sealed bids were received on August 8, 19!
said project; and
WHEREAS, all bid documents received from all bidders have been re
in detail and the City Council does hereby find that the lowest respo
responsible bid received for the construction of said project was submit
Pacific Mechanical Corporation, in the amount of $860,156.00; and
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad and Almgren and Koptionak, Incorpo
desire to amend the existing design contract to provide professional engin
services during the construction of the Home Plant Pump Station and Forc
project; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has the authority to authorize thc
Manager to approve change orders within a certain percentage of the
construction contract amount.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the C.
Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the bid in the amount of $860,156.00 submitted by Pi
Mechanical Corporation is hereby accepted and the Mayor and the City Clei
hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract thereafter.

3. That Amendment No. 2 to the existing agreement between th

Following the Mayor’s signature of said amendment, the City Clerk is I
authorized and directed to forward one (1) signed copy of the amendment
Municipal Projects Department for processing and one (1) copy to Almgrc
Koptionak, Incorporated, 9968 Hibert Street, Suite 102, San Diego, Califl
92131.
4. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to approve indi\
construction change orders of $25,000 or less and a cumulative Val
$86,016.00.
5. That the City Council does hereby appropriate $100,000 frc
Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Sewer Fund to the project account for
project.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbac
