RESOLUTION NO. 91-367
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING $7,180 IN GRANTS FROM THE CALIFORNIA
ARTS COUNCIL FOR ARTISTS-IN-RESIDENCE, MOTHER LODE
MUSICAL THEATRE, AFRICAN-AMERICAN DRAMA COMPANY AND
ISAACS, McCALEB 81 DANCERS
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1279 and the Arts Element to the General Plan state tt
goal to "provide opportunities for the Artistic and Cultural development of its citizens" wii
objective number one "to develop and maintain an environment that encourages diver:
program activity in the arts,"; and
WHEREAS, the Arts Commission recommends a minimum of two artists-in-residenr
programs be held in FY 1991 192 to fulfill those goals and objectives; and
WHEREAS, the California Arts Council provides matching funds up to 50 perce
for artists listed on its touring program; and
WHEREAS, the California Arts Council has awarded these grants to the City
Carlsbad, Arts Program,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbl
California as foliows:
1, That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the California Arts Council grants in the amount of $7,180 are here
accepted.
3. That the grant money is hereby appropriated from account number 180-8r
81 26-2495 for the uses described herein.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the Carlsbad City Council at a reguk
meeting held on the 12th day of Nm&r , 1991 by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Larson, Stanton and Nygaa
