A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TE€E CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE STAFF REPORT FOR THE CAIUSBAD HIRING CENTER, AUTEORIZING AN EXTENSION TO THE EMPLOYMENT
SERVICES CONTRACT AND MODIFYING THE HOURS OF OPERATION
WHEREAS, the City Council directed staff to return to them with an update
on the progress of the Hiring Center; and
WHEREAS, Sari Diego County SER Jobs for Progress was selected as the
employment services provider for an initial term of six months, allowing the City 01
Carlsbad the option to extend the contract for a second six month term; and
WHEREAS, the six month contract with San Diego County SER Jobs fo
Progress will expire in December 1991; and
WHEREAS, San Diego County SER Jobs for Progress has requested that th
hours of operation at the Hiring Center be modified from Monday through Frida!
6:OO a.m. - 11:OO a.m. to Monday through Friday, 7:OO a.m. - 12:OO am..
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city Council of the city I
Carlsbad, as follows:
1. That the City Council accepts staffs report pertaining to demograpl
and placement information obtained during the first 14 weeks of operation of 1
Carlsbad Hiring Center.

2. That the City Council authorizes staff to extend the employm
services contract with San Diego County SER Jobs for Progress for the remaindei
91-92 fiscal year at a cost of $34,815.
