A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A DONATION FROM TARGET STORES.
Whereas, the City’s Arts Office provides cultural opportunities for Carlsbad
4 residents; and
5 WHEREAS, Target Stores is providing funds in the amount of 3,000 to the

1992; and 7
Carlsbad Arts office to help fund the Make-A-Circus performance on Sunday, July 19,
WHEREAS, the Make-A-Circus performance is free to the public and is a popular
9 event. This will be the fifth year it has been presented by the Carlsbad Arts Office; and

WHEREAS, the cost for a one-day appearance by Make-A-Circus is $5,000.
Additional funds to present the circus will come from a California Arts Council Grant in
the amount of $500, and the City of Carlsbad Arts Office, acct. 001 -820-421 0-2495 in the
amount of $1,500.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad
as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.

Make-A-Circus performance on July 19, 1992 is hereby accepted and deposited into 19
2. That the donation in the amount of $3,000 from Target Stores to help fund the
1 acct. 880-51 9-9228-0000. 20

1 3. The City is hereby authorized to expend the $3,000 donation from acct. 880-
2 51 9-9228-0000, $500 California Arts Council Grant and $1,500 from acct. 001 -820-421 0-
3 ii 2495 to present a performance by Make-A-Circus on July 19, 1992. 4

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City
Council held on the 9th day of June 1992, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Kulchin, Larson, Stanton and Nygaard
