RESOLUTION NO. 92-229
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, PROHIBITING SKATEBOARDING
ON OCEAN STREET SOUTH OF OAK AVENUE
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the potential for property damage
and traffic safety hazards caused by skateboarding; and
WHEREAS, the City Council may regulate or prohibit the use of
skateboards on specific public prclperty or public right-of-ways by resolution; and
WHEREAS, there is an urgent need to prohibit skateboarding on Ocean
Street south of Oak Avenue, a dedicated public street directly north of the Split
Pavilion, due to safety hazards.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.

2. That upon adoption of this resolution and the placement of
appropriate signs, skateboarding shall be prohibited on Ocean Street south of Oak
Avenue and on adjacent public sidewalks and public parking lots.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Carlsbad, California on the 14th day of JULY
, 1992, by the following vote, to wit:
