HomeMy WebLinkAbout1992-07-21; City Council; Resolution 92-2321 2 3 4 5 6 7 a 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 a m RESOLUTION NO. 92-232 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, TRANSFERRING AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE REMOVAL OF LEAKING UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK AT 405 OAK AVENUE AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT WITH MV ENVIRONMENTAL TO COMPLETE THE WORK. WHEREAS, the underground fuel storage tank at the 405 Oak Avenue Yard has leaked and contaminated the ground water; and WHEREAS, the County of San Diego and the State Water Quality Control Board have been notified of this contamination, and it is imperative to remove the tank now; and WHEREAS, MV Environmental is qualified to perform the necessary work; and WHEREAS, the estimate to remove the tank and remediate the contamination is $20,000 plus $10,000 contingency; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad as follows: 1. The above recitations are true and correct. 2. The Finance Director is hereby authorized to transfer and appropriate $1 5,000.00 from the Unencumbered Contingency Fund, $7,500.00 from the CMWD Retained Earnings Fund, and $7,500.00 from the Sanitation Enterprise Fund to the Vehicle Maintenance Fund. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 LO 11 12 13 14 15' 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 * m 3 3. The City Manager is authorized to execute an agreement with MV Environmental for the removal of the underground fuel storage tank at 4-05 Oak Avenue. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad at its regular meeting held on the 2 1st day of JULY , 1992, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Nygaard NOES: None ABSENT: Council Members Larson, Stanto CLAUDE A.
