HomeMy WebLinkAbout1994-06-28; City Council; Resolution 94-176C II -I 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 a e RESOLUTION NO. 9 4 - 17 6 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING A CASH COMPENSATION PAYMENT FOR HOURLY EMPLOYEES. WHEREAS, because of current economic conditions both at the city and state level, it has been determined that no adjustment to the salary schedule or individual salaries will be made at this time; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is appropriate to grant each hourly employee a cash compensation payment; and WHEREAS, the cost of this cash compensation payment will be funded from the General Fund balance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council for the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct. 2. That the recommendation that the City grant a cash compensation payment to hourly employees who are employed as of June 28, 1994, is hereby approved. Such cash compensation payment will be treated as a part of salary and, as such, will be subject to all withholdings as required by law. Hourly employees will receive a cash compensation payment in the amount of $100 to be paid by separate check on or before July 1, 1994. Such cash compensation payment will be treated as a part of salary and, as such, will be subject to all withholdings as 11 - I 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 a 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 0 e An additional cash compensation payment will be calculated based on a rate of $0.50 per hour for all hours worked for the six month period beginning June 20, 1994, and ending December 18, 1994. This cash compensation payment is to be paid as a lump sum by separate check in January 1995 and will also be treated as a part of salary and, as such, will be subject to all withholdings as required by law.
