RESOLUTION NO. 96-55
APPROVING A REQUEST BY THE BATlQUlTOS LAGOON FOUNDATION FI CITY COUNCIL SUPPORT FOR A FOUNDATION GRANT APPLICATION WI THE CALIFORNIA COASTAL CONSERVANCY REGARDING THE FOUNDATIOI PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS, PROGRAMS, AND PLANNING EFFORTS BATIQUITOS LAGOON.
WHEREAS, the Batiquitos Lagoon Foundation’s goals are to preserve, prote
enhance the substantial environmental, educational, and community values and oppoi
at Batiquitos Lagoon; and
WHEREAS, the Batiquitos Lagoon Foundation has requested the Carlsbad City C
continued support for a Foundation grant application currently under review by the Ci
Coastal Conservancy; and
WHEREAS, said grant application is scheduled to be formally considered by the Cz
Coastal Conservancy in the near future.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of C(
California, as follows:

That the above recitations are true and correct.
That the Carlsbad City Council does hereby express its continued suppor
Batiquitos Lagoon Foundation’s grant application currently before the California
Conservancy and urges the Conservancy to approve said application.
3. That the Carlsbad City Council does hereby further express its continued
for the Batiquitos Lagoon Foundation’s activities and planning efforts for furthering th
programs, and projects of the Foundation at Batiquitos Lagoon.
