RESOLUTION NO. 96-64
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE 1996 CITY OF CARLSBAD TRAFFIC
SIGNAL EVALUATION POL1 CY.
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad recognizes the need for the installation of traffii
at various intersections to promote the safe and efficient movement of people and goc
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad recognizes the need for an objective policy to dc
when and where traffic signals will be installed in the future; and
WHEREAS, maintaining an up-to-date qualification list of warranted traff ic signals v
staff when reviewing future Capital Improvement Programs (CIP) or developer prc
determine the need and schedule of the traffic signal installation; and
WHEREAS, the 1996 Traffic Signal Evaluation Policy contains the 1996 Traffi
Qualification List.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of C
California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. The City Council of the City of Carlsbad hereby adopts the evaluation procedi
the updated Traffic Signal Qualification List as contained in the 1996 Traffic Signal E\
Policy.

3. The Engineering Department of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authoi
periodically update the Traffic Signal Qualification List as contained in the Traffic
Evaluation Policy and present such updated list to the Traffic Safety Commission and
Council for review and approval.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City
