RESOLUTION NO. 96-230
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING SOLID WASTE SERVICES RATES
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad is responsible for the provision of solid waste, desi
recyclables and yard waste collection services to promote the safety, health, and general we
its residents; and
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad may contract for these services; and
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad has contracted with Coast Waste Management,
solid waste, designated recyclables and yard waste collection services within the City; and
WHEREAS, Coast Waste Management is in the business of collecting solid
designated recyclables and yard waste and can continue to provide the necessary cc
services to residential and commercial customers; and
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad has determined that a revision in solid waste service
is necessary at this time.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Carls
follows:

The above recitations are true and correct.
The solid waste services rate for once-a-week collection of single-family residenti
waste, designated recyclables, and yard waste shall be $14.52 per month per housi
The solid waste services rate for special residential collection service shall be $17
month per household.

The rates for commercial solid waste collection shall be:

5. The rate for commercial recyclables collection shall be determined by Coast
Management, Inc. and approved by the Community Services Director or designee on i
by-case basis, depending on materials collected, but in no case shall this rate eXCe
rate for commercial solid waste collection.
The following rates shall apply to special pick-ups of solid waste:
a. The delivery charge for roll-off boxes shall be $42.00/box.
b. The service charge for all classes of roll-off boxes shall be $157.24 per colll
plus landfill disposal fees.

C. Roll-off boxes which are not collected a minimum of once-per-week st
assessed a stand-by charge of $3.60/day. Customers requiring more thz
collection from a roll-off box shall be refunded the original $42.00 delivery ct
This refund may be in the form of a credit on the customer's account.
The rate for special haul bins (%yard bins which require special collection or are reni
seven days or less) shall be as follows:
a. 1 bin $72.00 b. 2 bins (delivered same trip) $134.00 c. 3 bins (delivered same trip) $196.00
The City Solid Waste Administration fee for residential and commercial customers st
2% of the gross solid waste services rate.
These solid waste services rates established hereby shall be effective June 15, 19E
supersede rates previously established.
