WHEREAS, the documents listed on Exhibit “A,” attached hereto and made a part hereof, have been reviewed by the Chief oj Police; and WHEREAS, the Chief of Police recommends that all document: listed on Exhibit “A are more than two years old, are no longei required, and meet the requirements of Government Code Section 34090 for destruction; and WHEREAS, maintaining all obsolete files, correspondence and papers is uneconomical; and WHEREAS, the City Attorney has consented to the destruction ol those documents listed on Exhibit “A”; // // // // // // N N // // c 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 l6 17’ 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 0 0 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of thc City of Carlsbad, as follows: 1. 2. That the above recitations are true and correct. That the Chief of Police is hereby authorized to destroy thc documents listed on exhibit “A,” attached hereto. PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of thc City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, held on the dayof JULY , 1996, by the following vote, to wit: 9th AYES: NOES: None ABSENT: None Council Members Lewis, Nygaard, Kulchin, Finnila, Hall ATTEST: M%L. RESOLUTION NO. 96-242 0 e P EXHIBIT "A" The Police Department, as part of their record managemeni procedure requests consent to destroy the following records: Accident Reports 1987-1989 Crime Reports 1987-1989 Incident Reports 1987-1989 Misc. Complaint Reports 1987-1989 Stored Vehicle Reports 1987-1989 Juvenile Records which have been sealed for five years to date 1989 Copies of Citations (Officer Copy) 1987-1989 Notification Letters 1987-1989 Misc. Correspondence 1987-1989 Activity Logs 1987-1989 Repossessions 1987-1989 Expired Bicycle Licenses 1987-1989 Background investigations and related reports, not resulting in employment being offered, including those associated with reserve officers and volunteers that have been sealed for over two years. Internal affairs investigations that been sealed for over five years. I do hereby consent to the destruction of the above documents currently on file in the Police Department. &.Q k. RONALD R.
