A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING DISTRIBUTION OF A REQUEST FOR
PROPOSALS FOR CDBGIHOME PROGRAM YEAR 1997-98; ACCEPTING
PUBLIC COMMENTS AND APPROVING THE 1997-98 CDBG/HOME
FUNDING PLAN STRATEGY; AND APPROVING THE APPLICATION
REVIEW PROCESS
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad is entitled to a new allocation of Community Develo]
Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the US. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUI
fiscal year 1997-98;
WHEREAS, on July 17, 1996 an Agreement between the City of Carlsbad and the Cou
San Diego was executed approving the City's participation in the San Diego Urban County H
Investment Partnership Consortium and is, therefore, entitled to an allocation of HOME Inves
Partnership funds for fiscal year 1997-98;
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, held a public heari
consider the distribution of a "Request for Proposals" for Carlsbad's 1997-98 CDBG/HOME Prc
and the required documents for development and implementation of Carlsbad' 5 1997-98 CDBGIH
Program; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has taken all testimony into account.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED as follows:

The above recitations are true and correct.
That staff of the Housing and Redevelopment Department is hereby authorizl
distribute a "Request for Proposals" for the City of Carlsbad's 1997-98 Corn
Development Block Grant/HOME Program.
That the City Council has hereby approved the 1997-98 CDBG/HOME Funding
Strategy, required by federal regulations, for Carlsbad's Community DeveloI
Block Grant Program and HOME Program.
That the City Council has hereby approved revisions to Carlsbad's Application Re
Process for the CDBG Program and approved the allocation process for its HI
funds.
