RESOLUTION NO. 9 7 - 5 7
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA,
AUTHOIUZING THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS
FOR SETTLEMENT OF THE WORKERS’
COMPENSATION CLAIMS OF DEAN SPINOS
5 WHEREAS, Mr. Gary Bourassa, Defense Counsel for the City of Carlsbad in this

matter, has recommended a settlement of the Workers’ Compensation claims of Dean
Spinos; and
WHEREAS, the settlement has been approved by the Workers’ Compensation
10 /j Appeals Board; and
-3 11 WHEREAS, there are sufficient funds available in the Workers’ Compensation
12 Self-Insurance Fund to pay the settlement,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, California, as follows:

16 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
17 II 2. That the expenditure of $80,000 from the Workers’ Compensation Self-
18

Insurance Fund is authorized for the settlement of said claims.
3. That the Council accept the Compromise and Release, on file in the Risk
2o I/ Management Office.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City
Council of the City of Carlsbad on the 11th day of FebruarY 1997, by the following vote,
