RESOLUTION NO. 97-457
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING A STREET NAME
CHANGE ON A PORTION OF POINSETTIA LANE TO
POINSETTIA LANE/AVIARA PARKWAY IN THE
SOUTHWEST QUADRANT OF THE CITY
WHEREAS, Aviara Land Associates has filed a verified application with
the City of Carlsbad which has been referred to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, said verified application constitutes a request for a street
name change as shown on Exhibit “I”, (attached) and as provided by City Council
Policy Statement No. 20; and
-
WHEREAS, the City Council did OH the 1st day of April, 1997, hold a
duly noticed hearing to consider said proposed street name change; and
WHEREAS, at said hearing, upon hearing and considering all testimony
and arguments, if any, of all persons desiring to be heard, said Council considered all
factors relating to the street name change.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council as
follows:

That the above recitations are true and correct.
That based on the evidence presented at the hearing, the City Council
approves a street name change, based on the following finding and
subject to the following condition:
Finding:
1. That the City Council finds that overriding economic and social considerations
permit the street name change on that portion of Poinsettia Lane to Poinsettia
Lane/Aviara Parkway as shown on Exhibit “I”.

Condition: i195
1. That all costs associated with the design, fabrication and installation of the sign
modifications at the Interstate fi/Poinsettia Lane Interchange and street will be
borne by the Aviara Land Associates. Those costs associated with the name
change may include but are not limited to ten freeway signs, four internally
illuminated street signs and all emergency response data bases and maps.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, held on the 22nd day of
April , 1997 , by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Finnila, Nygaard, Kulchin, and Hall
