A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA APPROPRIATING $138,070
FROM THE GENERAL FUND CONTINGENCY BALANCE
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
A STANDARD PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT
WITH THE RICK ALEXANDER COMPANY FOR
COMPLETION OF THE HABITAT MANAGEMENT PLAN.
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad has embarked upon a planning process calle
Habitat Management plan which is intended to address the conservation of rare, sen:
threatened, and endangered species of plants and animals while allowing compatible publi
private construction and development; and
WHEREAS, preparation of the Habitat Management Plan is a technically COI
undertaking necessitating the use of consultants in various fields of expertise, including bic
economics, and environmental documentation; and
WHEREAS, the City Council intends that the Habitat Management Plan be comple
1997 in order to maintain an orderly land use planning and development process; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to retain the services of consultants at this ti
ensure that the Habitat Management Plan will be completed in 1997.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the above recitals are true and correct.
2. That the City Manager is authorized to execute a standard professional se
agreement in an amount not to exceed $138,070 with The Rick Alexander Company to PI
expert assistance in the completion of the Habitat Management Plan.
3. The Finance Director is authorized to appropriate $138,070 from the Gc
Fund Contingency Balance to cover the cost of the professional services necessar
completion of the Habitat Management Plan.
