CITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION NO. 97-668 I
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CONSOLIDATED FUNDING STRATEGY AND PLAN FOR THE CITY'S
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANTIHOME PROGRAM TO THE
U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT
CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE SUBMITTAL OF THE 1997-98

6 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, selected projects and fund

8 public meeting on April 1, 1997;
allocations for the City's 1997-98 Community Development Block GrantIHOME Program durin,
9 WHEREAS, the City must prepare an Annual Consolidated Funding Strategy and 1

Block Grant and the HOME Investment Partnership Programs; l3
housing opportunities as a requirement for receiving federal funds under the Community Developr 12
activities to address the housing needs of the homeless and actions to foster and maintain afford 11
outlining all projects to be undertaken to meet the needs of low and moderate income reside
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad's 1997-98 Consolidated Funding Strategy has been prep;
l5 and was made available for public review and comment for thirty (30) days beginning April 4, 1997
l6 ending May 5, 1997; and,
l7 ll WHEREAS, the City Council has taken all testimony into account.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the City Council approves the submittal of the 1997-98 Consolidated Funding Str:
and Plan for the Community Development Block GrantIHOME Program to the
Department of Housing and Urban Development.
3. That the Housing and Redevelopment Director is authorized to submit the req1
application documents, the Annual Consolidated Plan, to the U.S. Department of Ho
and Urban Development for approval upon expiration of the public review and con
period.
