RESOLUTION NO. 97-491
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE CONTRACT EXTENSION AND AMENDMENT NO. 2
WITH TRANSTECH ENGINEERS, INC., FOR THE CONTINUED
DEVELOPMENT OF THE COASTAL RAIL TRAIL PROJECT.

6 WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad has been designated as the lead agency coordin:

Coastal Rail Trail project; and 8
the efforts to develop a comprehensive feasibility study and preliminary design plans for
9 WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad entered into a Supplemental Agreement
10
(ISTEA) funds for the development of the Coastal Rail Trail project; and 11
CALTRANS authorizing the use of $960,000 in lntermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency
12 WHEREAS, Transtech Engineers, Inc., is currently under contract with the Ci?
13
plans for this project; and 14
Carlsbad to complete the Feasibility Study phase including the preparation of preliminary de
15 WHEREAS, Transtech Engineers, Inc. has submitted a detailed scope of work and
16
(NEPA). 18
the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the National Environmental Protection 17
proposal for the completion of the necessary documents in order to comply with the provision
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsl
