A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING CARLSBAD BOULEVARD REALIGNMENT ACTION PLAN AND APPROPRIATING TRANSNET LOCAL FUNDS FOR DESIGN AND PLANNING STUDIES.
5 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad has determined that it is desil

to the South City Limits to increase public access and use of beach front properties; and 7
and in the public interest to explore the realignment of Carlsbad Boulevard from Manzano I
8 WHEREAS, development of such a program requires further design, plant
9 environmental and financial studies to evaluate and implement such a realignment program.
10 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carls
I I California, as follows:
12 1. Council authorizes staff to proceed with the following actions to study
realignment of Carlsbad Boulevard as generally depicted on Exhibit 2 (attache 13

A. Prepare a “scope of work” and “request for proposal” to contract wi consultant to prepare a three phase corridor land use study to evaluatc easterly roadway realignment. The study would include, at a minimum following: Phase I - environmental opportunities and constraints anal Phase II - land use opportunities and constraints analysis; and, Phase financial feasibility analysis.

B. Implement Boyle Alternative 3 for the intersection of Carlsbad Boulevard Palomar Airport Road as depicted in the Conceptual Design Report d
