A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, FOR APPROVAL OF PLANS AND
SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZATION TO PUBLISH AN
ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR REACH 5A
VISTAKARLSBAD INTERCEPTOR SEWER, CMWD PROJECT
NO. 94-1 01, CONTRACT NO. 31 821/35331
7 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, has determinec

necessary and in the public interest to approve the plans and specifications and authori
publishing an advertisement for bids for the Reach 5A VistalCarlsbad Interceptor Sewc
10 CMWD Project No. 94-1 01, Contract No. 31 821 /35331 ; and
11 WHEREAS, $3,000,000 have been appropriated in the 1997/98 Budget ’

interceptor sewer replacement in Vista/Carlsbad Interceptor Sewer and the project cost
15
are sufficient funds available for this project; and 14
$604,000 of which $165,000 (27.3%) is Carlsbad’s share of the project cost; therefore, the
WHEREAS, plans and specifications for the Reach 5A Vista/Carlsbad lntercep ’ 6 Sewer, CMWD Project No. 94-101 have been prepared by the engineering staff with a CI
l7 estimate of $604,000 which are available for review in the Engineering Department; and

WHEREAS, authorization is hereby granted by the City Council to publish
Invitation to Bid in accordance with Section 3.28.080 of the Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, the Contractor, the City of Carlsbad and Carlsbad Municipal Wz
21 il District will enter into a three party contract for construction of the project; and 22

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the plans and specifications and cost estimate of $604,(

submitted by the engineering staff which are on file with the Engineering Department
incorporated herein by reference and are accepted.

3. That authorization to publish an invitation to bid in accordance wi.
Section 3.28.120 of the Municipal Code be granted.
4. That the Contractor, City of Carlsbad, and Carlsbad Municipal Watl
District will enter into a three party contract for construction of the project.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Coun
of the City of Carlsbad, California held on 26th day of August ,1997,
the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Finnila, Nygaard, and Hall
NOES: None
ABSENT: Council Member Kulch
