A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA ESTABLISHING SOLID WASTE
SERVICES RATES FOR ROLL-OFF BOXES

WHEREAS, The City of Carlsbad is responsible for the provision of solid 1
designated recyclables, and yard waste collection services to promote the safety, heali
general welfare of its residents; and
7 11 WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad may contract for said services; and

WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad has contracted with Coast Waste Management, 11
solid waste, designated recyclables and yard waste collection services within the City; and

WHEREAS, Coast Waste is in the business of collecting solid waste, desic
recyclables, and yard waste and can continue to provide the necessary collection servic
I.2 // residential and commercial customers; and
13 11 WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad has determined that a revision in the solid

services fee for roll-off boxes is necessary at this time.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE City Council of the City of Carlsb

I? I1 1. The above recitations are true and correct.
I.8 II 2. The following rates shall apply to special pick-ups of solid waste:
19 (I a. The delivery charge for roll-off boxes shall be $42.00 per box.

b. The service charge for all classes of roll-off boxes shall be $255.5
collection, plus landfill disposal fees.

c. Roll-off boxes which are not collected a minimum of once-per-week sh
assessed a stand-by charge of $3.60 per day. Customers requiring

than one collection from a roll-off box shall be refunded the original $
delivery charge. This refund may be issued in the form of a credit c
customers account.
3. These rates shall become effective September 1, 1997, and supersede solid
28 I/ roll-off box service rates previously established.

4. All other categories of solid waste services rates shall remain unchanged.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbac
regular meeting held on the 9th day of September , 1997, by the following vote, to
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Finnila, Nygaard, Kulchin, and Hall
