RESOLUTION NO. 98-6
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND
SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO
ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE CANNON ROAD WEST WIDENING
FROM INTERSTATE 5 TO PASEO DEL NORTE. PROJECT NO. 3437.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California has determined it
necessary, desirable, and in the public interest to construct the widening of Cannon Road from
Interstate 5 to Paseo Del Norte; and
WHEREAS, the City Director of Planning has found that this project was described EIR
94-01 is within its scope; AND there will be no significant unmitigable effect, not analyzed therein;
AND that therefore this project is within the scope of the prior EIRs; and
WHEREAS, the widening of Cannon Road is a mitigation measure identified in EIR 94-01;
and
WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for furnishing of all labor, material, tools,
equipment, transportation and other expenses necessary or incidental for said project have been
prepared and are on file in the Engineering Division, Public Works Department of the City of
Carlsbad and are incorporated by reference herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the plans, specifications, and contract documents as presented are hereby
approved.

3. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to publish, in
ccordance with State law, Notice to Contractors Inviting Bids for the Cannon Road Widening
rom Palomar airport Road to Paseo Del Norte, Project No. 3437.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council
reld on the 6th day of JANUARY , 1998 by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Finnila, Nygaard, Kulchin, Hall
