2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF

ACCESS STAIRS AT OCEAN STREET AND CHERRY AVENUE,
ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION OF BEACH 4
SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND
5 PROJECT NO. 351 1.
6 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, has determined i

beach access stairs at Ocean Street and Cherry Avenue; and 8
necessary, desirable, and in the public interest to undertake reconstruction work on the existins
WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for furnishing of all labor, materials, tools
equipment, transportation, and other expenses or incidentals for said project have been preparec
and are on file in the Engineering Department of the City of Carlsbad and are incorporated bl
reference herein; and

12 WHEREAS, funds for the Cherry Avenue Stair Reconstruction were scheduled for nex

to fund construction at this time; and l4
fiscal year from TransNetlLocal funds, it is necessary to borrow $100,000 from the General Func
15 WHEREAS, the General Fund will be reimbursed from TransNetlLocal fund next fisca
16 year; and
17 WHEREAS, with the $100,000 loan from the General Fund, sufficient funds are available
18 to construct the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad 19
California, as follows: 20
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the plans, specifications and contract documents as presented are herebl 21
22 approved.
23 3. That the Finance Director is authorized to allocate $100,000 from the Genera
24 Fund to the project account.

4. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to publish
in accordance with State law, Notice to Contractors Inviting Bids for the Beach Access Stai
Reconstruction, Project No. 351 1.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Counci
held on the 3rd day of March , 1998 by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Nygaard, Kulchin and Hall
NOES: None
