RESOLUTION NO. 98-311
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF THE
QUICNETl4 TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND AN INCREASE
TO THE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT BUDGET ALLOCATION.
5 WHEREAS, funding has been established by the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality

improving air quality; and 7
Act (CMAQ) and is made available to agencies desirous of reducing traffic congestion and
8 WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad has applied for and has been approved for CMAQ
9 funding in the amount of $65,000 for a QuicNetl4 Traffic Management System; and
WHEREAS, the QuicNetI4 Traffic Management System will be purchased, installed, and 10
utilized for the downtown coordinated traffic signal system; and

WHEREAS, the CMAQ funding program requires the City of Carlsbad to first expend the

13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
14 California, as follows:
15 1. The purchase and installation of the QuicNetI4 Traffic Management System and
