RESOLUTION NO. 98-338
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE THIRD
AMENDMENT TO THE GENERAL PLAN IN 1998 FOR GPA 97-
OIIGPA 98-02
WHEREAS, on April 1, 1998, and September 2, 1998, the Planning Commission
held duly noticed public hearings to consider the General Plan Amendments GPA 97-01 and
GPA 98-02 and the related environmental review, respectively; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission adopted Resolutions No. 4249 and 4373
respectively, recommending approval of the three subject amendments; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, on the 6th day of October,
1998, held duly noticed public hearings to consider the Planning Commission’s
recommendations and to hear all persons interested in the proposed changes to the General
Plan and related environmental review; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad wishes to consolidate the
proposed changes to the General Plan (GPA 97-01/GPA 98-02) into a single amendment
constituting the third General Plan Amendment of 1998.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City
of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
I. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the City Council approves the following:
a. General Plan Consistency (GPA 97-01)
b. Courtyard by Marriott (GPA 98-02)
as provided for in City Council Resolutions No. 98-226 and 98-328, respectively.

PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad on the 13th day of October 1998, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Finnila, Nygaard and Kulchin
NOES: None
ABSENT: Council Member Hall
