RESOLUTION OF THE CIN COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE APPLICATION
FOR A GRANT FROM CALIFORNIA LIBRARY LITERACY
SERVICES ACT FUNDS.

5 WHEREAS, the Carlsbad City Library Adult Learning Program provides training tc
6 meet the literacy needs of adults; and
7 WHEREAS, the Carlsbad City Library Adult Learning Program supports the goals of

the City Council and the objectives of the Library; and
WHEREAS, the California State Library will provide additional support for the Adult
11 Learning Program with matching grant funds;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
14 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
l5 11 2. That staff is authorized to apply to the California State Library for $25,149 in

the City of Carlsbad held the Khday of November , 1996, by the following vote, to wit: 19
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of
California Library Literacy Service Act funds.
