A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE EXTENSION OF
THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING FOR THE SRO
PROGRAM BETWEEN THE CITY OF CARLSBAD AND

5 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, does hereby resolve
6 follows:
7 1. That the Extension and Agreement of the Memorandum of Understanding for the S
8 Program, attached hereto as Exhibit A, between the City of Carlsbad and 5
Dieguito Union High School District is hereby approved. 9
2. That the Mayor of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to exec1
said agreement for and on behalf of the City of Carlsbad, California on the 1st

EXTENSION AND AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO AGREEMENT
This Amendment is entered into and effective as of May 17, 1999, amending the
agreement dated July 1, 1998 by and between the City of Carlsbad, a municipal corporation,
hereinafter referred to as Tity", and the San Dieguito Union High School District, hereinafter
referred to as, "District" for the School Resource Officer Program.
RECITALS
WHEREAS, the initial agreement expires on June 30, 1999; and
WHEREAS, the City and District desire to extend the agreement dated July I,
1998 to provide the School Resource Officer Program for the duration of summer school; and
WHEREAS, a supplemental cost schedule has been. negotiated and agreed to
between the parties hereto, as shown on Exhibit."A" School Resource Officer Program 1998-.
1999 Cost Sharing Breakdown; and

NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of these recitals and the mutual covenants
contained herein, City and District hereby agree as follows:
I. The term of the agreement shall end on August 1, 1999.
2. District shall pay City for its share of the cost associated with the summer
school program as described in Paragraph two above, as set forth in the attached Exhibit "A" to
this Extension and Amendment.
3. All other provisions of the aforementioned agreement entered into on July 1,
1998, by and between City and District shall remain in full force and effect.
