HomeMy WebLinkAbout1999-07-20; City Council; Resolution 99-2611 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 /I 0 0 I/ RESOLUTION NO. 99-261 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF CONTRACT NO. 3626 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE GIBRALTER STREET EMERGENCY ACCESS ROAD RECONSTRUCTION AND MAKING AN APPROPRIATION THEREFOR, PROJECT NO. 3626. WHEREAS, plans have been reviewed by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad the construction of the Gibralter Street Emergency Access Road Reconstruction, Prc No. 3626; and WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City of Carlsbad for the construction of I project; and WHEREAS, the low bid received to construct said project was submitted by Single Ea Inc., dba Concrete Contractors Interstate in the amount of $62,178.60; and WHEREAS, the low bid received to construct said project submitted by Single Eagle, I dba Concrete Contractors Interstate is responsive; and WHEREAS, the total estimated costs for said project are $102,578.60; and WHEREAS, Council has previously appropriated $60,000 for design, constructi administration and inspection of said project; and WHEREAS, additional funds in the amount of $45,000 are available from Gas - Revenues. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsb; California, as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct. 2. That the bid of $62,178.60 by Single Eagle, Inc., dba Concrete Contract1 Interstate for Project No. 3626 for construction of the Gibralter Street Emergency Acce Reconstruction Project is accepted, and the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a contr; therefor. 3. That $45,000 is hereby appropriated from the Gas Tax Fund to the project fund. 4. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to approve construction chan orders up to $12,500. Ill - II 0 * 1 5. That the award of this contract is contingent upon the contractor executing 2 3 required contract and submitting the required bonds and insurance policies, as described in contract, within twenty (20) days of adoption of this resolution.
