RESOLUTION NO. 99-477
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND
AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE COLE LIBRARY
REMODEL PROJECT, CITY PROJECT NO. 33841
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California has previc
appropriated funds for the Cole Library Remodel Project, hereafter referred to as the “Proj
and
WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for the Project were approved and solicitatic
bids was authorized by the City Council on September 14, 1999; and
WHEREAS, on October 20, 1999, thirteen (13) sealed bids for the Project were rece
and opened by the City for this work; and
WHEREAS, the lowest responsive, responsible bid received by the City for the Prc
was submitted by Khavari Construction, Incorporated in the amount of $219,381; and
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds it necessary, desirable, and in the pu
interest to award a contract for the Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That bids received and opened by the City on October 20, 1999 for the Project are her
accepted, award of a contract for the Project is hereby approved to the lowest respons
responsible bidder Khavari Construction, Incorporated in the amount of $219,381, and the M:
is authorized to execute said contract. Following the Mayor’s execution of said contract, the (
Clerk is directed to forward copies of the contract and this Resolution to the Purchasing, Libr,
and Community Development Departments.

3. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to approve change orders for said Projec
cumulative amount not to exceed fifty percent (50%) of the original contract award.
