RESOLUTION NO. 2000-12
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING A
REVISED SALARY SCHEDULE FOR CLASSIFICATIONS
REPRESENTED BY THE CARLSBAD POLICE OFFICERS’
ASSOCIATION (CPOA).
WHEREAS, representatives of management and the Carlsbad Police Officers’
Association conducted negotiations pursuant to the Meyers-Milias-Brown Act regarding
wages and other terms and conditions of employment for the period January I, 1999 to
December 31,2000; and
WHEREAS, said representatives reached agreement and submitted the
Memorandum of Understanding to the City Council which was approved; and
WHEREAS, the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding call for a 3%
general wage increase effective January I, 2000, and
WHEREAS, the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding call for a $40 per
month increase to the amount the City shall contribute on behalf of each active employee
towards the payment of premiums under the PERS health program effective January 1,
2000, and
WHEREAS, the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding call for an increase
in uniform reimbursement from $22.12 per pay period to $25 per pay period effective
January 1,2000, and
WHEREAS, funds for these increases are available and have been included in the
Police Department operating budget for Fiscal Year 1999100.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the Police Department Salary Schedule set forth in Exhibit A, attached
hereto and made a part thereof, is adopted.
3. That the dollar amount the City shall contribute on behalf of each active
employee represented by the CPOA towards the payment of premiums under the PERS
health program shall increase by $40 per month effective January 1, 2000.
4. That reimbursement to active employees represented by the CPOA for the cost
of purchasing and maintaining required uniforms shall increase from $22.12 per pay
period to $25.00 per pay period effective January 1,2000.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad
City Council held on the 11 th day of JANUARY , 2000, by the following
vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Hall, Finnila, Nygaard, Kulchin
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
