RESOLUTION NO. 2000-32
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE FINAL REPORT BY THE STREET TREE
POLICY COMMITTEE.

~ WHEREAS, on November 2, 1999, the City Council appointed a 15 member Citizc
8 Committee to study street trees in the public right-of-way in the area west of El Camino Rea
the Ocean, between Agua Hedionda and Buena Vista Lagoons; and 9
10 WHEREAS, Council directed the Committee to consider all relevant issues in formulai
its recommendations to the City Council including but not limited to, aesthetics, neighborhc
compatibility and preferences, safety, liability, environmental impacts, and to consider
applicable laws, including but not limited to Americans with Disabilities Act, Clean Water Act E

13 1) the like; and 14 11 WHEREAS, the Committee was given until January 25, 2000 to make its report E

recommendations to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the Committee has fulfilled its obligation by developing a policy for 1
planting, removal, replacement and maintenance of street trees in the public right-of-way; and
WHEREAS, said policy is included in the Final Report submitted by the Committee 1
Council consideration and acceptance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad
follows:

2. That the Final Report attached hereto is hereby accepted and filed in the Office of
