2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, TO WAIVE RIGHT TO APPLY FOR
BLOCK GRANT FUNDS AND AUTHORIZING COUNTY OF SAN
4 DIEGO TO APPLY FOR AND EXPEND FUNDS.
5 WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad declines to directly undertake any project using 1
6 made available through the Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant Program adminisi
7 by the Office of Criminal Justice Planning (OCJP) ; and
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad waives its right to its allocation of $17,711 and autho
the County of San Diego to apply for and expend the funds for the mutual benefit of
jurisdictions.

10 WHEREAS, the County of San Diego shall agree to provide all matching funds req
for said project (including any amendment thereof, and including the matching funds for the C

the cash match will be appropriated as required ; and l3
Carlsbad's allocation) under the Program, and the funding terms and conditions of OCJP and

14 WHEREAS, it is agreed that any liability arising out of the performance of the Grant A
15
recipient and not the responsibility of the City of Carlsbad. The State of California and C 16
Agreement, including civil court actions for damages, shall be the responsibility of the !
17 disclaim responsibility for any such liability.
WHEREAS, the grant funds received hereunder shall not be used to sup 18
expenditures controlled by this body.
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carls
20 California, as follows:
