' .. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 2000-104 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF CONTRACT NO. 3618 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF CARLSBAD BOULEVARD PARKING AT PONTO BEACH ROAD RECONSTRUCTION, PROJECT NO. 3618. WHEREAS, plans have been reviewed by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad the construction of Carlsbad Boulevard Parking at Ponto Beach Road Reconstructi Project No. 3618; and WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City of Carlsbad for the construction of s project; and WHEREAS, the low bid received to construct said project was submitted by Southk Paving, Inc., in the amount of $48,445.85; and WHEREAS, the low bid received to construct said project submitted by Southland Pavir Inc., is responsive; and WHEREAS, the total estimated costs for said project are $1 18,245.85; and WHEREAS, Council has previously appropriated $1 50,000.00 for design, constructic administration and inspection of said project; and WHEREAS, funds are available from Gas Tax Revenues. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsb; California, as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct. 2. That the bid of $48,445.85 by Southland Paving, Inc., for Project No. 3618 1 construction of Carlsbad Boulevard Parking at Ponto Beach Project is accepted, and the Mayor hereby authorized to execute a contract therefor. 3. That the Finance Director is authorized to appropriate funds to the project accol from the Gas Tax Fund. 4. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to approve construction chan! orders up to $20,000. /I I /I/ /I/ i1 w m 1 5. That the award of this contract is contingent upon the contractor executing 2 3 required contract and submitting the required bonds and insurance policies, as described in contract, within twenty (20) days of adoption of this resolution. The City Manager may gl 4 I I reasonable extensions of time. 6. That should Southland Paving, Inc., not execute the contract, Council authori the City Manager to determine the disposition of the bid bond and administratively award contract to the second lowest bidder.
