RESOLUTION NO. 2000-176
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND
SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO
ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE NORTHEAST,
SOUTHEAST, & SOUTHWEST QUADRANT PEDESTRIAN
RAMP IMPROVEMENTS, PROJECT NO. 3523-5 AND APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL FUNDS.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, has determined it
necessary, desirable, and in the public interest to retrofit sidewalk curbs at intersections to bring
them into compliance with the federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); and
WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for furnishing of all labor, material, tools,
equipment, transportation and other expenses necessary or incidental for said project have been
prepared and are on file in the Engineering Department of the City of Carlsbad and are
incorporated by reference herein; and
WHEREAS, the estimated cost for the project is $269,000 and only $242,600 is currently
available.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the plans, specifications, and contract documents as presented are hereby
approved.
3. The City Clerk of the City of Catlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to publish, in
accordance with State law, Notice to Contractors Inviting Bids for the Northeast, Southeast &
Southwest Quadrant Pedestrian Ramp Improvements, Project No. 35235.

4. That an additional $26,400 is appropriated from the Traffic Impact Fee fund to the
project.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council
held on the 6 th day of June , 2000 by the following vote, to wit:
