RESOLUTION NO. 2000-306
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD CALIFORNIA APPROPRIATING FUNDS TO REIMBURSi SISTER Cd COMMITTEE MEMBER
WHEREAS, one of City Council’s goals is to “develop, maintain, and enhance programs
that support life long learning and result in an informed, knowledgeable and involved public
through enhanced citizen engagement”; and
WHEREAS, Carlsbad’s Sister City Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic, invited
representative from Carlsbad to attend its annual Spa Season Opening Ceremonies; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Lewis designated Sister City Committee Member Leonard Martyns
as the Carlsbad representative; and
WHEREAS, the Committee agreed to provide funds for airfare expenses from its Special
Revenue Account, which are funds raised from private sources. ; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Martyns represented Carlsbad in Karlovy Vary in May, 2000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, as
follows:

That the above recitations are true and correct.
That the City Council authorizes the Finance Driector to appropriate $860.36
from the Sister City Committee Special Revenue Account to reimburse Sister
City Committee Len Martyns for airfare expenses.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED, at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad, California, held on the 3rd day of October wing
vote, to wit:

NOES: None
ABSENT: Council Member Hall
