HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001-03-13; City Council; Resolution 2001-761 2 3 4 5 6 7 6 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 16 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 2001-76 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT TO LEASE SURPLUS POLICE VEHICLES TO PALOMAR COLLEGE WHEREAS, the College offers basic police academy courses in an extended format, which allows working adults to attend; and WHEREAS, the College needs the temporary use of surplus police vehicles for training and other academy program support purposes; and WHEREAS, the City benefits from the academy program because it creates a pool of potential applicants for City police officer openings; and WHEREAS, the City periodically has surplus police vehicles available for lease to the College on a temporary basis, not to exceed twelve (12) months; // I/ I/ I/ /I 3 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 23 24 25 26 27 28 NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California does hereby resolve as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true. 2. That the Mayor of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized to execute the agreement, attached as Exhibit A, to lease one surplus vehicle a year, for five years, to Palomar College for use in the college’s Criminal Justice Program. PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, held on the 13th day of, March, 200 1, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: c ouncil Members Lewis, Finnila, and Hall NOES: None ABSENT: Council Members Kulc ATTEST: 4
